doppler is Europe's largest umbrella factory. In Austria the enterprise currently employs approx. 170 employees. Subsidiaries in Eastern Europe and the Far East, and sales offices across the world provide doppler an excellent reputation.

Founded in 1947 by Ernst doppler, taken over by his daughter Renate and her husband Hermann Würflingsdobler, the enterprise employed ten employees in 1959. Meanwhile the third generation is at work and like in the past special emphasis is put on quality and flexibility. Therefore, unbreakable chestnut sticks from Germany, umbrella frames from England and Italy are used in the umbrella production. While a lot is crafted by hand the enterprise expands constantly due to a high spirit of innovation.

The product range covers garden-, rain-, sun- and advertising umbrellas, garden furniture, cushions, bench and table covers as well as party tents. The export rate per product group is between 70 and 95 per cent.

By the take-over of the German umbrella manufacturer Knirps in 2005 doppler also purchased the trademark rights at this cult object. doppler holds 73 per cent of Knirps, 27 per cent keeps the Schweizer Strotz AG.

"The secret of our success? Working long hours – and guaranteeing quality by our employees." Hermann Würflingsdobler, managing director.
